"You knit me together in my mother's womb"
I had my first doctor's appointment today and the baby and I are doing great. I am 11 weeks along with a due date of April 16. My wonderful Dr. Smith ordered a sonogram so that I could see my beautiful baby. I will never get over the awesomeness of a baby in the womb. The development, the dependency, the true MIRACLE of life! I have lots of pictures and a video from the sonogram. It's amazing what they can do now with the 3-D pictures. I chose some of the best ones to post here. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!!
Here is the length of the baby, 4.75cm long. You can see the brain developing! Unbelievable!
Here is a 3-D picture of the baby lying vertically, the head at the top, the hands are in front of the neck, one of them resting against the baby's chin. Isn't this awesome?? You can make out some of the baby's face in this one!
Another 3-D photo, baby is in the same position, just more of a side view, the hands have moved a little.
Here is a very cool picture. This is the back of the baby and you can actually see the spine developing. I told you it's a miracle!
Psalm 139:13-14 "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;"
Put ME in coach!
On Sunday Daddy took the boys out to play ball. It didn't last too long, it's still over 90 degrees here and the bugs were insane. (That's why Gabriel didn't make it outside.) But of course the boys still had a great time. After they came inside Luke bragged that he was able to hit over 500 homeruns. Not too shabby.
Do you think maybe the Cardinals could use his talent to help them through the rest of this season? Let's hope our St. Louis boys can pull it together here at the end!
Luke nothing, Kaden would fit right in perfectly with the Cards right now. Doesn't he look out of place in this picture? A little lost, wondering what to do? That seems to be how the Cardinals are feeling right about now.
I still have faith though. Let's Go Cardinals. Bring us a winner!

Diego boys
We went shoe shopping the other day and ended up with 2 pair of Go, Deigo, Go! shoes. Kaden LOVES Diego and we watch it everyday. The baby loves it too. Gabriel even answers Diego when he asks a question. Kaden got the Diego shoes and those were the only boy shoes in Gabriel's size so he ended up with the same pair. They're very cute I must say!
Kaden with his a new shoe. (sorry about the poor pic quality--but cute none-the-less)
For those of you who don't get to watch Noggin (TV) on a regular basis. They have started labeling the shows to let the parents know the educational significance of the show. I took a picture of the description of Go, Diego, Go:
Wow! And I just thought they liked the singing! :)

It's clean up, clean up time
Kaden-man got his dessert after the bath. It's a pretty cute picture, huh?
And yes, Gabriel did get a bath too, just no pictures of him.
Illness update: everyone is much, much better. Michael had strep throat, is on meds now and all but fine. I took Gabriel to the doc on Wednesday and he has an ear infection. Bring on the pink stuff, which now I am sad to say is orange and doesn't smell as good. He is feeling a lot better too. Hopefully we will be healthy for a while now.

We Remember
Today let us pause to remember those who were killed 5 years ago and those who have been killed since while fighting our enemy. Let us also reflect on how far our country has come since that day.
I found an anonymous quote called "Let's Talk about Love." I love to be reminded how Americans can come together in such times of need, how much love there is in this country, and how many heroes we have living among us.
It's the kind of love that lets a man put his two-month-old child into someone else's arms so he can try to help make sure that the doomed aircraft he is riding on is not used as a flying bomb.
The kind of love that makes a firefighter run into a teetering skyscraper in the hope that he can rescue the people trapped inside, only to have that building collapse on him and more than a hundred of his brother firefighters.
The kind of love that allows another firefighter to shrug off his injuries, saying "Whatya expect? I'm a New Yorker!" And then burst into tears, thinking of his fallen buddy, who has ten children.
The kind of love that creates a convoy of physicians and nurses heading for New York City, riding in ambulances and their own vehicles, not knowing how much help they can be, but just wanting to help.
The kind of love that causes people the country over to stop and give blood, because that's the only way they can help.
The kind of love that permits a community like ours to put aside everything to come together and stand against those who would harm our own.
This country, and the free world beside us, stands shocked and dismayed. We are angry, and justifiably so. We have been attacked by people with no desire but to make us afraid, to make us hurt, perhaps even to make us hate the way they do. Maybe they do this because they know no other way; I personally do not care for their motives. I know that whatever their ultimate goals, they have failed already. They attempted to sow fear, and instead reaped heroism.
We are dealing with people who will die in order to kill, so great is their hate. But they are dealing with a people who will give their lives to save the lives of people they don't even know, so great is our love. In the end, how can they possibly stand against that?
Pray today for all the families who were touched on September 11, 2001. Pray for all Americans, pray for our leadership, and pray for our military as they continue to protect us and our freedoms.

And so it goes
We made our way back to the play area, where they had a little water park, you know the kind where the water shoots out of the ground. You can imagine how excited the kids were to play there! We didn't have suits or even towels, but who cares, we stripped them down to undies and shorts and the kids had a blast. And yes, that's Michael. He decided that he wanted to play too. I told you I really have 4 boys to take care of. Gabriel had the best time. He just laughed and laughed, he was pointing at the water and jabbering away the whole time. This last shot shows the whole fam. We had such a fun time.
After the water park, we headed to Belva and James' for dinner, which was an adventure in and of itself, but no pics of that. We didn't get back home until after 10:30 Saturday night, we were all wiped out. But that is the end of our fun-filled Saturday!

Pro shop pics
Luke decided to play with the camera and took some very interesting shots. I did keep this one, Luke was so proud of himself for "catching Daddy" as he called it. Nice shirt Daddy!! Mizzou-rah!We then headed over to the bass pro shop--yuck, not my favorite store by any stretch, but Mike told the boys there was fish in there, so off we went. Belva had the great idea of trying to get a photo of the kiddos. It worked fairly well I think, they are all almost looking and smiling both times, but I did notice that no fish made into either shot--oh well.
Knew that you would like those Grandma and Grandma Short! We then headed outside of the store to see the big shark! Luke was so excited. He kept telling me, "Don't worry Momma it's fake". It's kinda ugly is what it is, but this picture is quite adorable!!!Gabriel was doing great in the stroller so I opted not to get him out for the shark picture. But here the boy is looking oh so cute! What an angel!!

Saturday in the park...
There was a tunnel he was addicted to. He would run from one end back around to go through again and again.
When he got inside he was just as tall as the tunnel so his little head would ping-pong back and forth against the padding at the top. He would laugh and laugh, Michael and I were laughing so hard watching him. Could that baby be any cuter??Kaden joined in later which made Gabriel giggle even more. That boy LOVES to be chased! Later Kaden came over the bench where Michael and I were sitting, picked up the camera, and said "Kaden, smile!!", just like we prompt him when we want a photo. I gladly took one and it's adorable! Just look at that hair!!
More Saturday fun to come! Hope everyone had a great Labor Day!!!

A fun Saturday
We had decided to go over to the Destin area to spend the day with Mike's brother and family. Then Michael decided that he wanted to stop by Seaside Florida. It is the picturesque town that Jim Carrey's "The Truman Show" was filmed in. And man was it GORGEOUS!!!!!
I can't imagine actually living in a place like that. Michael kept saying that he could retire there for sure. We saw some real estate books and a 1 bed, 2 bath bungalow was only 1.4 million. Not too shabby, right?
After we walked around for a while we decided to have lunch, followed then by ice cream. The boys were so excited!
Kaden-man opted for a big popsicle instead.
Gabriel had a few bites of Daddy's cone.
There will be more to follow, like I said it was a long and full day and I took lots of fun photos.
And to Kelsey--sorry to hear that you broke your arm! We are praying for you! Way to be brave, we are so proud! Take care!
